AURORA Call for Applications 2024/25

The university is funding up to five places on the 2024-25 AdvanceHE Aurora leadership development programme for those identifying as women. Funding will cover the cost of the programme which will be delivered fully online, plus two face-to-face events, and runs from January to June 2025.

Engagement in the programme is a part of the LTA's approach to building collaborative and supportive networks of colleagues focusing on leadership development.

Interested colleagues should be able to evidence an aspiration to develop their leadership potential and be able to commit to all the programme dates in their application form. Successful applicants will be provided with a mentor through the University Mentoring Scheme and, following the completion of the programme, be encouraged to mentor colleagues wishing to develop their leadership capacity. They are also expected to commit to running some of the university’s Women’s Network sessions and further information is included in the application form and guidance.

Earlier this semester, Debbie Wartnaby and previous programme participants presented an 'All about Aurora' LTA Connect webinar which provided information on the University’s engagement in the AdvanceHE’s Aurora Leadership Development Programme for women and how to apply for one of this year’s five places being funding by the university. The slides and recording are available on the event page. We are also planning on holding another ‘All About Aurora’ webinar and further information will follow in due course.

The deadline for completed applications is 12noon Friday 25th October 2024.Applications will be considered by a selection panel made up of institutional Aurora Champions and UHI Aurorans. The panel will meet in November and applicants will be notified of the results, by email, shortly after the selection decisions have been made.
