What’s your winning idea?

The UHI Business Competition, run by CREATE Highlands and Islands Hub for Enterprise and Innovation, gives you the opportunity to pitch your business idea with the chance to win cash and other benefits to help make your innovation a reality!

CREATE have a total prize fund this year of £8,000 plus accountancy and legal packages offered by Johnston Carmichael and Harper Macleod LLP. The competition is open to:

  • All students across our partnership – whatever course you are studying
  • Anyone over the ages of 16 living in Argyll and Bute, Highlands and Islands, Moray, or Perthshire

Applicants can enter individually or as a group and the closing date for entries is noon on Thursday 18 April, all you need to do is register for an online account on CREATE’s website and answer the following questions:

  1. Explain your business idea.
  2. What inspired you to think of the idea?
  3. Who will your customers be?
  4. What will you need to make your idea a reality?

You have between 350 and 2,000 characters (includes spaces) to answer each question and you can save your entry multiple times before finally submitting.  So, what are you waiting for?! 

 Entries will be shortlisted to 15 and finalists will be invited to meet the competition judges at the UHI Inverness campus to pitch their ideas on finals day on Wednesday 22 May 2024.
