The donation supports the student kitchen initiative which provides free food items during the cost-of-living crisis. Alison MacPherson, Head of Optometry, who worked with Specsavers to set up the initiative, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Specsavers for supporting this initiative, which has been very welcomed by our optometry students.”

“The cupboards are readily stocked for students to help themselves 7 days a week whenever needed and ensures they are able to access free breakfast and lunches with no stigma.”

UHI also have a range of funding and financial support for students available on their website: www.uhi.ac.uk/support
