Calum Ross
Calum has been living and working in the Highlands for nearly 14 years. He bought the Loch Melfort Hotel, near Oban, with his wife Rachel in 2008 and combines the challenges of business ownership with a thriving consultancy business, advising SMEs across the Highlands & Islands. He was appointed to the board of Highlands & Islands Enterprise in September 2019. He was a board member of VisitScotland from 2013 until 2019.
Calum maintains several high-profile voluntary board positions; Chair of UK Hospitality Scotland; a director of UK Hospitality UK; a director of the Scottish Tourism Alliance and a member of the national Tourism Leadership Group. Most recently Calum served on the Scottish Tourism Recovery Taskforce. Calum is also a director of Argyll & the Isles Tourism Co-operative Ltd, and Chair of Arduaine Garden Friends.
Prior to returning to Scotland, Calum was Chief Operating Officer, Unilever Foodsolutions, Latin America, based in Sao Paulo.
