Professor Stefan Brink, Institute for Northern Studies UHI, awarded prestigious prize.

Professor Stefan Brink, Institute for Northern Studies, awarded the Nils Ahnlund prize by the Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture.

The Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture has awarded Professor Stefan Brink PhD FRSE, Professor of Scandinavian Studies at the Institute for Northern Studies, the Nils Ahnlund Prize for his distinguished academic career in a broad historiographic field involving place names, archaeology and ancient history.

Professor Stefan Brink said: “The Nils Ahnlund prize is the highest prize this academy gives, so I am very honoured.”

Professor Donna Heddle, Director of the Institute for Northern Studies, commented: “We are all delighted that the Institute’s very own Stefan Brink has been awarded this richly deserved prize which underlines his status as a world leading academic. Well done, Stefan, from all your colleagues!”
