UHI welcomes Consul General of Japan
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) was honoured to welcome Consul General of Japan, Mr Katsutoshi Takeda, and Deputy Consul General, Ms Minori Ishii, to UHI House in Inverness on Thursday 3 July.

During the visit, UHI representatives and the Consul General’s delegation discussed opportunities for future collaboration, welcoming Japanese companies into the Highlands and Islands and strengthening ties between the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire of Scotland and Japan. The visit marks an important step towards developing international partnerships that will benefit students, staff and communities across UHI’s regions.

Vicki Nairn, UHI Principal and Vice-Chancellor, said:

Mr Katsutoshi Takeda, Consul General of Japan, added:
“We greatly value our relationship with UHI and look forward to exploring new opportunities for cooperation in education and research, as well as strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Scotland.”
Discussions are expected to continue, with further visits and joint initiatives planned.
