Session Outline

Open to all UHI staff, this session will introduce a range of simple reflective writing and thinking exercises. We will spend time exploring what we can bring into writing activities and how reflective insights can be used to identify actions related to teaching practice, academic research and professional development. There will be some individual writing exercises and discussion in small groups. No-one will be asked to share any of their writing unless they would like to do so.

If you find you are unable to attend the session please send apologies to lta@uhi.ac.uk as soon as possible and at least two working days before the session date so we can offer all spaces out.

Presenter

Nicola Naismith

Nicola Naismith is an academic and visual artist who works on the MA Art and Social Practice programme at Shetland UHI. She leads the Reflective and Ethical Practitioner, and Professional Practice Modules and supports artists through mentoring and coaching.  Nicola uses writing across her teaching, research and visual art practice as a way of sharing perspectives, promoting discussion and building networks.
