When considering mentoring as a learning process, mentors should facilitate reflective conversations that are driven by the mentee who is motivated by their own learning ambition.  This non-directive approach can empower the mentee to reach their mentoring goal(s).   This workshop will see participants explore effective mentoring approaches through listening and communication, building rapport and trust, and using tools and techniques to asking questions in mentoring.

Optional pre-workshop task: Work through this open online course that explores open questions in mentoring.  OpenLearn Create course: Mentoring Matters

Although presented as separate workshops, the 4 mentoring workshop sessions are purposely scaffolded to develop mentoring practice and participants are encouraged to attend all where possible.
