Session outline

These webinar sessions have been organised by the LTA, EDU and LIS to provide additional support and guidance to colleagues as they support students online.

We are intending for the focus of the webinars to be on approaches to online learning, teaching and student support but we will be happy to explore any related issues collegues would like to discuss.

The format will generally be open discussion, although we are asking for questions in advance so that we can provide the most appropriate information on the day.

Registering is not essential but does help us to anticipate numbers and gather questions in advance of the event.

Using Blackboard Collaborate

To access Blackboard Collaborate you need a computer with an internet connection, plus a microphone and camera if you would like to be seen or heard. Please use Google Chrome if possible as this will provide the best connection.

Remote teaching information

In addition to the webinars being offered as detailed above, there is now detailed information on the EDU web pages regarding remote teaching. This includes information from related to options and platforms to support online synchronous teaching instructions in addition to a small number of online learning and teaching activities that the LTA and EDU are recommending for implementation in all units and modules on Brightspace.

Remote teaching information

It is important that colleagues visit the site above regularly as LIS are working on alternative solutions that will minimise impact on staff and help control data flows. Colleagues should also work through the self-assessment checklist on the ‘Teaching from home’ section.
