With a degree you can apply to our Gaelic pathway primary and secondary teaching if you speak Gaelic fluently.* Alternatively with Highers you can choose the four-year, Gaelic-medium undergraduate teacher education programme, BA (Hons) Gaelic and Education, which you can study from UHI North, West and Hebrides or Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
Sounds interesting? Then find out more by attending our ‘Open the door to your teaching career’ Teams online seminar on Thursday 12 December at 6.30pm. The event will be hosted by programme leaders Gwen NicGuaire and Shona Niccarmaig, based at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, and will cover:
- An introduction to UHI's teacher education programmes
- Overview of PGDE, including primary and secondary, full and part-time study
- How you’ll learn, how to apply and how placement opportunities work
- Frequently asked questions
- Audience questions
*You must also hold or be working towards, National 5 Maths and Higher English or equivalent. For Gaelic medium options you must be a fluent Gaelic speaker and able to read and write in Gaelic. See our course web pages for full entry requirements. Part-time study is not available for Gaelic pathway courses.
