Student Creative-Call Out entries for 16 Days of Action 2022
Ahead of 16 Days of Action 2022, UHI and HVAWP encouraged students across our partnership to participate in the ‘Creative Call-Out’ and to share their own creative media pieces which would raise awareness of, and inspire conversations around, Gender Based Violence. These pieces will also be made available to local Violence Against Women Partnerships to use in awareness raising materials and events, making a positive impact across our communities.
The judging panel included representatives from our creative industries network, student support, RASASH, High Life Highland, and the Highland Violence Against Women Partnership.
The talent and passion of our students was clear, and panel members commented on how impactful and inspiring all entries were. It was a difficult decision to pick a winner and well done to everyone who entered! Our winning entries are:
- 1st place: ‘What Should She’ by Sophie Martin, HND Contemporary Art Practice student at UHI Inverness
- 2nd place: ‘Blue Melt’ by Jean Harlow, An Cursa Adhartais student at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig
You can explore our student entries, including winners Sophie and Jean below.
Content warning: all pieces deal with themes of Gender Based Violence, such as sexual assault, and could be potentially upsetting or triggering.
