James Hall

James Hall was awarded Inverness College UHI student of the year at the college’s prizegiving ceremony in summer 2016.  James is currently in his third year of a BA (Hons) Sports Management. 

Sports lecturer Mark Murray commented: “James has always shown a hunger to further develop himself in sport and coaching.  He has achieved national governing body awards in rugby and for a number of years he has coached age grade players for the Highland Rugby Club.  He has also been heavily involved with High Life Highland's Active Schools programme, working with pupils in Fortrose Academy.  This commitment was recently recognised when he was awarded the prestigious SportScotland High Life Highland Young Coach of the Year at the 2015 Highland Coaching Awards.  James is also a very popular student with staff and his peers alike, and a very worthy candidate to achieve this award.”

James has had to overcome personal health challenges in order to achieve his BA in Sports Management.  During his time at Inverness College UHI, James completed his HND in Coaching and Developing Sport before articulating onto the BA.  Due to health issues, it was felt that James should go part-time and was successful in completing his degree this academic year.  During his time at the college, James has always been a dedicated and a hard working student, producing academic work of a very high standard.
