New Book Series Launched - Viking & Early Medieval Europe
UHI Viking and Early Medieval Studies (VEMS) in collaboration with publisher Brepols have launched a new book series entitled Viking and Early Medieval Europe.
This series aims to capture and inspire new research on the Vikings and early medieval Europe, approximately AD 400–1100. It explores cultural connections across the continent through contributions based on interdisciplinary research. The series covers a broad geographical range, stretching from the Atlantic to Byzantium and from the Mediterranean to the Barents Sea, allowing for a comprehensive examination of the vibrant interconnectivity of the era.
We invite contributions for both monographs and thematic edited volumes, which will be available in both printed and electronic formats. The series seeks research encompassing all early medieval European cultures from various fields, including archaeology, history, onomastics, studies of languages, and landscape analysis.
We particularly encourage volumes that adopt an interdisciplinary approach. See Brepols website for details on how to submit a proposal
