Come and join a presentation of our work to explore the landscapes and lost canals of Viking Age Orkney with Richard Bates, Martin Bates and Alex Sanmark, Norse Communications.
Our team were working to explore the landscapes and lost canals of Viking Age Orkney in October. As part of our project they were working at Hoxa on October 17 and at Skaill on October 20. Members of the public were invited to participate in this work through helping to recover core samples from beneath the ground. Our team explained how to read the cores of sediment to provide a history of past landscape changes in Orkney and the significance of these changes to help understand current climate change.
These are an in person lectures and will not be recorded.
