How to use the videos

Making you think... content
These videos can be used in a number of ways – both in the classroom as a teaching resource for employability in relation to a future in management, and as a self-directed learning resource. Students can review and use videos to inform their approach to applications and interviews, and to help make a decision about whether work in this type of organisation is something they’d like to consider.
Making you think...
To build on the content covered in these videos, individuals or groups could carry out the following tasks:
- Consider how the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Graduate Attributes (academic skills, communication, self-management, interpersonal skills, and social awareness) would be put to use in a role at Brodie Castle. Pick a function within the castle (hospitality, housekeeping, marketing, management, etc.) and say what types of activity would be required in that role, and how the university's graduate attributes would help.
- Often at interview stage, the interviewer will ask you if you have any questions about the company or job. Think about what Kathleen said about asking questions to show your knowledge, and consider what questions you might ask if you were at an interview for a position at Brodie Castle, that would highlight your knowledge of the company, your willingness to succeed/thrive in the role, or to highlight your interest in the type of work that Brodie Castle, or the NTS, do more generally.
