About National Trust for Scotland: Brodie Castle
Brodie Castle is a castle near Forres, in Moray, Scotland. It is home to a magnificent collection of furniture and ceramics, an impressive library containing over 6,000 volumes, and a significant art collection – from 17th century Dutch masters to 20th century Scottish colourists. The Playful Garden at Brodie Castle is another huge draw to visitors, full of excitement for all the family. Located near to the castle, it explores the Brodie family history in a novel and fun-filled way. The current castle has been the ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years, although the Brodie family seat has been located there since the 12th century.
Brodie Castle is a National Trust for Scotland (NTS) site. The NTS is an independent charity that protects and shares some of Scotland’s most precious historic places and natural landscapes. The NTS has 88 visited properties, 300,000+ artefacts and more than 76,000 hectares of countryside and gardens, which are brought to vivid life by armies of volunteers and staff doing everything from guiding visitors to thatching cottages and building footpaths. It’s an interesting and dynamic organisation, and one that has a vast range of exciting voluntary and paid opportunities available – from hospitality, catering, events and business functions to creative work, maintenance and conservation!
