This resource features an example of one of the National Trust for Scotland’s (NTS) many visitor sites and looks at the opportunities available within the NTS and how to find out about them, the career pathways of two of their key staff, and some general handy interview tips.
Brodie Castle and the NTS have identified a need to raise awareness about interview preparation, skills and experience requirements, and also more generally to enhance awareness of the many opportunities the NTS have across Scotland.
The videos provide viewers with an idea of the sorts of skills and aptitudes that an organisation like the NTS looks for, with a view to sending students and prospective employees into the application and interview process well-armed with some basic but essential advice.

The aim is to help students understand the many different functions that make up organisations – for example, this type of site needs chefs, housekeepers, managers, landscapers, etc. It’s also a tool to get students thinking about how they can demonstrate skills and experiences that would be of relevance in a work environment like Brodie Castle.
