How to use the videos

These videos can be used in a number of ways - both in the classroom as a teaching resource for employability in relation to employability skills enhancement, and as a self-directed learning resource.  Students can review and use videos to inform their approach to volunteering, and help make a decision about whether volunteering is something they would like to consider, to enhance their work based skills and knowledge.

To build on the content covered in these videos, individuals or groups could carry out the following tasks:

• Consider how your skills and experience could complement the work that LGOWIT mention in the video.
• After hearing about Allison, and Catherine’s own experience of volunteering, what two things have you learned about her experience in getting to where she is today? Has it made you think differently about volunteering and the impact it can have on your career?
• Do some research of volunteering vacancies currently being offered LGOWIT and their partners.
