The PGR Code of Practice provides the framework through which the University of the Highlands and Islands delivers its postgraduate research degrees. It lays out expectations and procedures which relate to research students, supervisors of research students and examiners of doctoral awards. It includes guidance on procedures relating to the admission, training, supervision, support and progress of postgraduate research students and forms part of the University governance and regulatory framework.

As such, it should be read in conjunction with the current UHI Academic Regulations Section 14b – Postgraduate research degree regulations.

The University of the Highlands and Islands is committed to protecting your personal information and being clear about what information we collect from you and how we use it.  These privacy notices explain how we collect, store, process and share personal data and your rights in relation to the personal data we hold, specifically concerning the processing of the personal data of the University’s postgraduate research degree applicants and students and the appointment of external postgraduate research degree supervisors and examiners. This information is supplementary to the University’s HE admissions and enrolment privacy notices.
