Developing scholarship

content

Within the University, scholarship development is focussed on encouraging colleagues to disseminate their own knowledge, expertise, practice and research.

Acknowledging that there is a continuum between research and scholarship, we see scholarship as engaging in various formal and informal activities which stop short of undertaking formal research.

Scholarly activities can include:

  • Presenting at conferences and events
  • Reflective writing, including blogging
  • Reviewing for journals
  • Authoring short articles and think pieces,
  • Engaging with disciplinary and professional networks in the sharing of practice and expertise

Mentoring for scholarship

There is a Scholarship Development strand of the University Mentoring Scheme which can match colleagues with experienced mentors to provide advice and guidance on how to progress your scholarly activity.
